Why Families & Young Adults Trust Us

For nearly a decade, Resilience Recovery has supported adolescent and young adult males through developmentally informed, family-centered care. Our transitional model emphasizes clinical excellence, accountability, and the life skills needed for sustainable recovery and independence.

Age and Gender-Specific Care for Adolescent and Young Adult Males

Programming is thoughtfully designed around the developmental needs of young men ages 14–28. Separate tracks ensure care remains age-appropriate, clinically relevant, and aligned with each stage of growth.

Licensed Clinicians and Evidence-Based Treatment Methods

Our multidisciplinary team delivers evidence-based care grounded in relational and attachment-focused principles, including the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). Treatment prioritizes emotional healing while building practical skills for long-term stability.

Small Group Sizes for Personalized Attention

Low client-to-staff ratios allow for individualized support, meaningful therapeutic relationships, and consistent clinical oversight. Each client is known, supported, and actively guided throughout their recovery process.

Trauma-Informed, Holistic Care Approach

Care is trauma-informed and developmentally responsive, addressing the underlying experiences that often contribute to substance use. We support the whole person — emotionally, socially, academically, and vocationally.

Ongoing Family Therapy and Communication

Families remain closely involved through weekly therapy, regular updates, and dedicated care coordination. This collaborative approach strengthens communication, rebuilds trust, and supports lasting change beyond the program.

Beautiful and Structured Sober Living Environments

FARR-accredited residences provide a safe, structured setting that reinforces accountability while promoting independence. Each home is intentionally designed to reflect real-world living, helping clients practice the skills necessary for a successful transition forward.

Features Our Addiction and Mental Health Services

Our transitional outpatient programming provides dual-diagnosis care for adolescent and young adult males. Care plans address primary substance use disorders such as alcohol or opioid addiction, cocaine use, marijuana addiction, prescription drug abuse, synthetic and designer drugs, and vaping and nicotine addiction. We also provide care for co-occurring mental health conditions, emotional dysregulation, and developmental and transitional challenges.

Individual Therapy

During individual therapy, young men participate in one-on-one sessions focused on uncovering the root causes of their struggles and developing personalized strategies for long-term success. Our therapists utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to identify negative thoughts and behaviors and to practice reframing and coping with those thoughts in a trauma-informed manner.

Group Counseling

Our group therapy sessions go beyond simple discussions. Participants are offered interactive activities that foster growth through peer support, life skills exercises, and the practical application of recovery tools. Our levels of care also incorporate 12-Step integration for practical application of coping mechanisms.

Family Support and Involvement

Our team believes family is integral to the recovery process. Clinicians oversee therapy sessions as needed and provide weekly family updates. Through family integration, we are able to build trust and foster a supportive home environment that includes setting healthy boundaries and relapse prevention planning.

Career Planning

Our programming includes career exploration and planning, beginning with GED completion assistance and, where appropriate, college application and enrollment support. We also help young men develop job search skills, train in interview preparation, and aid in resume building and professional development.

Case Management

Every client has a case manager assigned to their treatment case who assists with life skills such as resume building, mock interviewing, job searching, budgeting, legal issues, and off-site appointments, as well as transitions to and resources for aftercare.

How Our Outpatient Services Work

Our comprehensive outpatient services include individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, medication management when needed, and treatment for co-occurring disorders with substance abuse. Resilience Recovery Resources uses age-appropriate treatment approaches, providing specialized care for teens and young adults with flexible scheduling, evidence-based approaches, and a seamless continuum of care.

Adolescents and young adults who seek psychiatric services at our rehab centers for drug addiction or mental health issues will first undergo a psychiatric evaluation to determine the correct level of outpatient care. After the initial assessment and treatment planning, clients begin regular therapy sessions, receive academic and life skills support, and participate in regular evaluations of progress and transition planning for long-term recovery.

Our Addiction and Mental Health Treatment Process

Resilience Recovery Resources in West Palm Beach, Florida, provides integrative care that addresses the root of substance use disorders and mental health needs.

Assessment

Admission begins with a pre-assessment (PA) completed by our Admissions Coordinator and reviewed by our Clinical Director. Approved clients either admit door-to-door or are referred to a detox/residential treatment facility for stabilization before beginning treatment at Resilience Recovery Resources.

Treatment Planning

Your unique treatment plan is based on your assessments. We will include family options, as well as individual and group modalities. Peers play an important role in healing, both as resources for new ideas and as a source of belonging and acceptance necessary to address the effects of addiction.

Therapy

Outpatient therapy uses evidence-based options, including family, group, and individual settings, life skills development, peer mentorship, and case management. The therapeutic process helps young men understand their addiction, the core issues behind their struggles, and what coping skills can be implemented into their lives to support long-term recovery.

Progress Monitoring

Our team regularly reviews each client’s progress as part of an individualized treatment plan. The clinical team considers factors such as participation, emotional and behavioral progress, development of recovery and life skills, and readiness for greater independence. When appropriate, clients may advance through program phases as they demonstrate consistent engagement and apply skills in daily life.

Monitoring also supports ongoing transition planning and helps the team determine whether a client’s current level of care remains appropriate. Any changes in privileges, independence, or programming are based on clinical judgment, safety, developmental needs, and team recommendations.

Is It Time for Substance Use Treatment?

If you or your son is experiencing escalating substance use, difficulty stopping, or consequences at home, school, work, or in relationships, it may be time to seek professional support. A clinical assessment can help determine the most appropriate next step based on substance use, withdrawal risk, mental health needs, developmental stage, and current functioning.

FAQs

Who is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) right for?

An intensive outpatient program (IOP) is right for individuals who need more support than standard weekly therapy provides, but do not require 24/7 residential or inpatient care. IOP is a great option for those who are stepping down from medical detox, residential inpatient rehab, or a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and still need strong structure. It provides more than just weekly therapy while allowing clients to attend to family routines or work.

Resilience Recovery Resources does not directly provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) or medication management. When clinically appropriate, the team coordinates referrals to qualified medical or psychiatric providers while clients continue transitional PHP, IOP, or outpatient support.

If your son needs detox, our team will help provide a complete continuum of care by referring him to a medical detox center prior to admission to Resilience Recovery Resources. When medical detox is complete, your son may continue treatment in outside residential treatment programs or outpatient programs at our facility. Our team ensures transitions between levels of care are seamless, so there are no gaps in treatment.

Yes. It is possible to work while in rehab at Resilience Recovery Resources, depending on progress in treatment and level of care. Our young adult IOP is specifically designed to start later in the day, giving young men the opportunity to work in the morning before attending treatment in the afternoon. Clients are able to maintain remote jobs or pursue local employment, with retail and food service positions easily accessible by bus from our West Palm Beach, Florida, location.
