Why Families & Young Adults Trust Us

For nearly a decade, Resilience Recovery has supported adolescent and young adult males through developmentally informed, family-centered care. Our transitional model emphasizes clinical excellence, accountability, and the life skills needed for sustainable recovery and independence.

Age and Gender-Specific Care for Adolescent and Young Adult Males

Programming is thoughtfully designed around the developmental needs of young men ages 14–28. Separate tracks ensure care remains age-appropriate, clinically relevant, and aligned with each stage of growth.

Licensed Clinicians and Evidence-Based Treatment Methods

Our multidisciplinary team delivers evidence-based care grounded in relational and attachment-focused principles, including the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). Treatment prioritizes emotional healing while building practical skills for long-term stability.

Small Group Sizes for Personalized Attention

Low client-to-staff ratios allow for individualized support, meaningful therapeutic relationships, and consistent clinical oversight. Each client is known, supported, and actively guided throughout their recovery process.

Trauma-Informed, Holistic Care Approach

Care is trauma-informed and developmentally responsive, addressing the underlying experiences that often contribute to substance use. We support the whole person — emotionally, socially, academically, and vocationally.

Ongoing Family Therapy and Communication

Families remain closely involved through weekly therapy, regular updates, and dedicated care coordination. This collaborative approach strengthens communication, rebuilds trust, and supports lasting change beyond the program.

Beautiful and Structured Sober Living Environments

FARR-accredited residences provide a safe, structured setting that reinforces accountability while promoting independence. Each home is intentionally designed to reflect real-world living, helping clients practice the skills necessary for a successful transition forward.

Substance Use & Mental Health Disorders We Treat

Each of our programs meets your teen or young adult son where they are, addressing not just the specific substances used, but accompanying underlying needs for a comprehensive and personal approach to each program.

Substance Use Disorders

Our team offers comprehensive care and support for an array of different substance use disorders (SUDs). This includes:

  • Alcohol addiction
  • Methamphetamine addiction
  • Prescription drug abuse
  • Opioid use disorder (OUD), including heroin and fentanyl
  • Cocaine
  • Marijuana
  • Synthetic or designer drugs
  • Benzodiazepines

We can further personalize each program to include a plan for addressing polysubstance use, or the use of multiple addictive substances in tandem. This includes challenges like healing from alcohol use disorder (AUD) alongside marijuana or opioid addiction.

Co-Occurring Mental Health Conditions

We can also address underlying mental health needs and disorders that may have informed substance use and addiction in the first place for a truly comprehensive approach to change. This includes care for anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, stress, trauma, and much more. We address mental health concerns through effective and personalized dual diagnosis treatment, all while building personalized coping skills and grounding strategies for navigating these challenges while maintaining sobriety.

Emotional Dysregulation

Each program also goes beyond surface-level symptoms, focusing on managing emotions and stress and developing healthy coping skills. From addressing mood swings and intense emotional responses to finding new ways to identify and process anxiety, stress, and more, we work with teen and young adult men to manage triggers and emotional responses, focus on agency, reduce impulsivity, and develop healthy processing skills.

Developmental and Transitional Challenges

Each program is built around the unique needs and challenges adolescents, teens, and young adult males face every day, including developmental and transitional challenges as they set academic and professional goals. With dedicated care that addresses these unique needs, we work with young men and their families to provide actionable, effective daily strategies and develop skills most pertinent to this stage of life and the stresses that come with it.

Our Levels of Care in South Florida

Resilience Recovery Resources offers multiple levels of care to match your teen or young adult son with the program that best fits to make a lasting difference. We also support teens and young adults as they navigate these levels, reach new milestones, and graduate to new levels of care, so there are never gaps in effective and specially catered care.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Located in West Palm Beach, our PHP is our most intensive level of care. This program is divided into two paths, one for adolescents aged 14 to 17 and one for young adults aged 18 to 28. PHP includes 25 hours of group therapy per week, family involvement, individual therapy, academics and life skills support, and medical oversight.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

A step down from our PHP, our IOP includes 9 to 15 hours of group therapy per week as teens and young adults take on more responsibilities and freedoms while still staying connected to our supportive community. These programs continue to focus on practical skills development and empowerment as men build a new life both inside and outside our walls, with weekly individual therapy and family therapy sessions, life skills support, and the ability to balance academics with ongoing healing.

Outpatient Treatment

Our least intensive level of care, our outpatient program, consists of about 6 hours a week of dedicated programming and is best for teens and young adults who have completed a higher level of care and are continuing to successfully integrate new skills and coping strategies while building a sober life at home. This level of care is also ideal for those with an engaged, educated family support system who are building sober lives, focusing on academics, or pursuing a professional career while balancing ongoing recovery.

Benefits of Our Addiction Treatment for Young Men

Our addiction treatment program blends expert care, clinical excellence, and personalized support dedicated to the unique needs of young men to focus on effective healing. Understanding our approach can empower men and their families to take their first step toward change with confidence.

Evidence-Based Treatment

Each program uses proven, evidence-based care, including individual counseling, group therapy, trauma-informed care, medication management, and therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). We also use the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), which focuses on staying present, identifying biological responses to stress, and building the skills to explore personal identity and relationships for a transformative approach to healing.

Holistic Therapies

Our programs treat the whole self, going beyond surface-level needs or symptoms of addiction to create lasting change. This is a necessary part of long-term healing: exploring not just the impact of addiction on daily life, but how underlying needs, behaviors, skills, and mentalities can continue to inform wellness. Our holistic approaches help young men make foundational changes that lead to a truly transformed and healthy lifestyle.

12-Step Integration

We also offer 12-Step Integration and community meetings, combining our individualized care with group therapy and peer mentorship to create a culture of healing.

Life Skills Development

We work with teens and young adult men to develop not just coping strategies, but also new life skills, accountability, responsibilities, and skills that translate into a focused and effective approach to navigating academics and the workplace. Practical coping skills, time management, communication, and more all empower young men to build their own agency in daily life.

Aftercare & Alumni Support

Your journey does not end when one of our programs ends. Our approach to aftercare starts two months before discharge and includes ongoing outpatient recommendations and structured home visits before return to ensure safety and educate families on continuing to support a newfound sober lifestyle. Aftercare also includes access to community resources and dedicated alumni integration to help you stay an engaged and effective member of our community, supporting peers while continuing to refine your own skills and journey.

Our Robust Family Program

Addiction is a family disease, and while SUD can greatly impact these important relationships, family members can also become invaluable supports. We incorporate the family throughout the process through weekly family therapy programs, a family care coordinator, family groups, and quarterly in-person family weekends. Family members, parents, and caregivers can not just rebuild trust, communication, and forgiveness, but also learn more about addiction, challenge enabling behaviors, and become effective and unified supports while tackling addiction.

Academic & Employment Support

Your son should never have to choose between their healing and academic or professional success. We work with a Florida-certified special education teacher at our on-campus satellite school, using online and virtual learning and enrollment to continue academic studies while pursuing healing from addiction.

A specialized case manager is also assigned to help your son continue to develop life skills and professional skills like resume-building, conducting mock interviews, learning to budget finances and schedule off-site appointments, learning job-hunting skills, and much more.

Beyond Our Addiction Medicine Program

Overcoming addiction is a complex process, and we work with you both during your time with us at our facility and beyond to ensure that you have access to the most effective care possible.

Detox Support: While we do not offer dedicated medical detox services, we can refer out to trusted local options to begin this part of the journey, with medical detox being crucial in managing withdrawal symptoms before transitioning to care with us.

Inpatient Support: We also work with other local inpatient rehab and residential treatment options for those who may need a higher level of care, while also coordinating with you to transition to our PHP, IOP, or OP so there are never gaps in care.

Medication Management: Each program also includes medication management, ensuring that you can balance medication while making the most of your time in treatment.

Inclusive & Safe: We are committed to creating a judgment-free space where men from all walks of life can come, share experiences, and uplift each other, regardless of experiences, trauma, and identity. Our team supports men exploring identity, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and helps create an accepting atmosphere.

When to Seek Help

Taking the first step can be the most challenging. Knowing when to make a call and learn about your options for professional care is crucial to help teen and young adult men confront addiction and build a thriving sober life.

Signs it may be time for help include:

  • Changes in social circles
  • Increased self-isolation or secretive behaviors, such as locking doors or lying
  • Changes in appetite or personal hygiene routines, such as lack of grooming or wearing out-of-season clothes
  • Sudden and unexplained financial changes
  • Decrease in academic performance or attendance
  • Inability to hold a job, or inconsistent workplace performance or attendance making steady employment difficult
  • Mood swings or increased feelings of anxiety, depression, angry outbursts, or mental issues
  • Changes in sleep routine, such as not sleeping, insomnia, or taking naps at odd times of day
  • Persistent cravings interfering with thoughts or daily routines
  • Restlessness
  • Using drugs to cope with emotional needs
  • Engaging with drugs alone or hiding drug use or extent of drug use from loved ones

Addiction affects every aspect of daily life. Early intervention is the best way to address its effects and prevent more drastic consequences, but no one is ever beyond healing. Resilience Recovery Resources is ready to work with you to find the right program, fit, and approach to empower you or your son’s transformation to a healthy, sober life.

FAQs

How do I know if my son needs professional addiction treatment?

If families have attempted to talk to their teen or young adult son about substance use before but have been met with minimal change, resistance, or increasingly worsening symptoms, increasing tolerance, or legal challenges, then professional treatment may be necessary. However, it is never “too early” to call to learn more about addiction or treatment options, with early intervention being crucial to addressing these challenges before further consequences.

Yes, we create a community where young men and peers can come together to explore healing together. Each program includes both group therapy with peers and individual therapy options, so there will be a blend of peer support, community resources, and focused individual care throughout each program.

It’s okay. Make sure that these options stay open, continue to communicate with your son, and provide support where you can. A professional can guide you on how to best talk to your son about concerns and stop enabling behaviors. Likewise, be ready to take action if they do change their mind; providing logistical support and engaging in healing alongside them can reinforce a feeling of unity and trust when they begin the journey.

It depends on the individual. Not all experiences are the same, and the length of treatment will depend on your son’s unique needs and goals, progress, necessary level of care, and other underlying needs.

We work with most major insurance companies, including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and more. We also offer fast, effective insurance verification on our website, and we are always available to talk with you about your coverage and expected costs before committing to one of our programs.
